NPD Assistant Manager

A luxury fragrance brand is looking for an experienced NPD Assistant Manager to be based in London.

The role

As NPD Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the New Product Development team in bringing innovative and high-quality fragrance products to market. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including external fragrance houses, marketing, packaging, and regulatory affairs, to ensure the successful development and launch of new fragrance products.

This role will be heavily involved in bringing new cosmetic and fragrance products to life, from the initial spark of an idea to ensuring they meet quality standards and reach store shelves.

You’ll collaborate with various teams to research trends, brainstorm concepts, manage development timelines, and create product documentation. You’ll also ensure packaging aligns with branding and regulations, coordinate artwork creation, and manage the physical product archive and sample library. Finally, you’ll play a key role in quality control by maintaining databases, creating product specifications, and managing the purchasing process for raw materials.

How you’ll dazzle us

Our ideal candidate for this role brings at least 5 years of experience in a similar position at a fragrance company. Familiarity with industry giants like L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Unilever, or Coty is a major plus. A bachelor’s degree in marketing or business development is required, with a master’s degree considered an advantage. You’ll be highly analytical and comfortable with numbers, fueled by a passion for the beauty industry and strong product knowledge.

Excellent communication and influencing skills are key, allowing you to effectively navigate all levels. You’ll also possess strong project management abilities with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) is essential, along with experience in data entry and managing multiple documents with accuracy and speed. Finally, you’re a strong team player who thrives in collaborative environments and excels at building relationships both internally and externally.
