We are looking for people with patience, empathy and that are engaging then you could be just the Auntie or Uncle we’re looking for.

Our aim is to shake up the care sector by bringing the same positivity and motivation to home care as we do to all our clients. We will make sure you have all the training and certification you need, so no previous experience is needed but if you do have a qualification then we would love to chat more! It’s essential that you have Just the right attitude, temperament, and the desire to make a real difference. This is a great career for people with experience in jobs that demand great people skills such as retail, cabin crew, and front of house.

Artisan Aunties is not a ‘one size fits all service’ we offer “a fresh approach to home care.”

All our Aunties and Uncles are carefully selected for their passion, presence, motivation and initiative as well as their compassion and empathy – patience, kindness and understanding are the key qualities of all our Aunties and Uncles.

  • Training

    You will be DBS checked, reference checked, as well as being trained and certified in all aspects of personal care and safety. Our on-going training modules will help you support your clients’ needs and help with your continuous professional development. Practical skills can be taught but attitude can’t. Therefore qualifications and experience in the care sector are not required, but it is crucial that you have the right attitude that will bring joy into your clients’ lives.

  • Candidates

    You will be making a huge difference to your clients’ lives. Not only providing support, but also bringing friendship and joy into their lives. We have flexible roles with people who require different levels of support and companionship. Our service is bespoke to every client to reflect their individual needs and wishes. You will therefore be providing a concierge service which could cover anything from a little housework and shopping to live-in personal care. We will match clients’ needs with the candidates who can provide the right level of support.

    2020 has proved very challenging for everyone working in customer service-based industries, and the market has been shaken to its core after two lockdowns and months of furlough and redundancies. Luckily, customer service excellence is a transferable skill, so this is a great career change for people with experience in jobs that demand great people skills such as retail, cabin crew, and front of house.

  • Clients

    Our clients could be anyone who would like extra support to enable them to live independently at home. The majority will be older people and those with mobility issues who will benefit hugely from your help. It is likely that your clients’ needs will change as time goes on and they will gradually need more and more support to help them enjoy living independently at home. They will benefit from having someone they have had a chance to get to know and trust to provide this, and we will provide the training you need in order to stay with your client for as long as possible. It could be that to begin with, you will be helping out with housework, shopping, trips out, gardening and walking the dog, but as time goes on, you will be helping out with their administration, taking them to doctors’ appointments, and personal care.

  • At home support and companionship

    This could be as simple as having a chat over a cup of tea, walking the dog, doing a bit of gardening, cleaning and cooking.  They may also want you to help them get out and about which, after all, one of life’s true pleasures. Whether it’s a couple of hours shopping, lunch, a trip to a local attraction, a visit to the cinema, or a day at the seaside or zoo, you will travel with your client to provide practical and friendship support. And as time goes on and their needs get more complex, your client may want extra support with cooking, medication, personal care, getting to hospital and doctor’s appointments etc.

  • Driving

    Clients may just want someone they know and trust to drive them. You could be asked to take them to doctors’ appointments, to hospital appointments, or to visit friends and family, or just go out for a drive so they can see what’s been happening in their local area.

  • Live-in care

    Whether it’s a temporary or permanent arrangement, as a live-in Auntie or Uncle, you will need to be on hand to take care of your client’s increasingly complex needs. Kindness, patience and compassion are vital qualities when providing this level of care. We will make sure you have all the training and certification you need to do the job well.

  • House sitting

    When people are away from home for a while, they like to know that there’s someone looking after the house and their pets, providing a reassuring presence as well as doing some light house duties and making sure things are running smoothly. You will also be on hand to take charge in the event that something goes wrong, organising repairs on behalf of the home owners, and keeping them updated with progress.

  • Au pairs

    We are looking for live-in or live-out au pairs to help out with the childcare and household management. Duties could include doing the school run, preparing meals for the children, and possibly also accompanying the family on holiday. Au pair work provides great opportunities for young people from different countries who want to spend some time in the UK to improve their language skills and experience the culture.
