Full-time DONATIONS ASSISTANT - NATIONAL MUSEUM

Artisan People arerecruiting for a Donations Assistants for one of Central London's oldest and most renowned museums. The donations team are responsible for welcoming guests to the museum and encouraging and taking donations on behalf of the museum in the bag search area. You will also likely be answering visitor’s questions and acting as a first point of contact for the museum, so a friendly but focused approach to this role is essential.

Please note that this is a temporaryfull time position organised around a fixed but rolling rota. You should be able to provide full availability, including evenings and weekends.

You need to be available for an initial meeting a Artisan People - week commencing Monday 2nd Septmber a potentially a second interview at the Museum on Friday 6th September.

You must have:

Experience in retail or the busy service industry

Fluency in English and excellent communication skills and ability to interact with visitors

A positive and proactive approach to work

Experience of working under pressure in a busy environment

Team working and listening skills

Confidence in approaching guests and groups

Your duties will include:

Actively greeting guests and encouraging donations to the museum

Taking donations via a PDQ machine or cash

Be knowledgeable of the museums temporary exhibitions and permanent collections

Full-Time Retail Assistant, National Museum

Artisan People are looking for full time Retail Assistants to work in the shops of one of Central London's oldest and most renowned museums. You should have previous retail experience, a strong work ethic, have experience of busy environments and enjoy working with people. This role will primarily be based around the multi-media desk in the museum.

Please note that this is a temporaryfull time position organised around a fixed but rolling rota. You should be able to provide mostly a full availability on an ongoing basis, including evenings and weekends. 5 working days a week, 8.25 hour shifts between 0900-2115 with 1 weekend off per month.

The role runs from 28th October 2019 - 8th March 2020 . You must be available for an Interview on the 24th-25th October with the Museum. Initial interviews will be held with Artisan People as soon as possible.

Induction starting 28th October - must be available.

Temporary Positions / Front Of House / Hosting / Gallery Assistants

Artisan People have a number of clients who call on us for casual staff in a number of roles, such as Hosting, Gallery Assistants, Cloakroom, Retail, Customer Service. Some of this work is short-notice, so people who are flexible and keen to pick up work would be ideal.

We are looking to take on people for casual shift-work through Summer. If you have a background in working in customer service positions, museums, galleries or in hospitality and are flexible and keen for daytime, evening and weekend work, please send us your CV, cover letter and your availability - weekend availability is essential though.

Pay varies by placement and is usually between £8.21ph - £10.55ph. 

We will be arranging some small group interviews to meet potential candidates in the coming weeks.

You will need to have:

  • Available for a group interview either on Mondays or Wednesdays at 1330.

  • Good weekend and evening availability

  • Customer Service experience within a similar sector – this could include retail, heritage, event work, bar work etc.
