A national museum is looking for enthusiastic, committed, friendly and SIA-licensed individuals to join its Visitor Service Team on a temporary basis.
The main purpose of this role is to provide information and guidance to visitors, including ticketed special exhibitions, events and Museum Membership, as well as completing required security safety checks.
You’ll be required to patrol and undertake required Health and Safety checks, manage visitor flow and crowd control whilst supporting museum wide activities, including the public programme and exhibitions and events. You will also be responsible for submitting required reports, including Health and Safety and Crime reports.
The role will be in the museum following a 4-days on, 2 days off rolling rota, requiring successful candidates to work a majority of weekends, with hours fixed at 10:50 – 15:10 (Part-Time). This Assignment is Temporary, starting Monday 5th June 2023.
A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence is essential.
The perfect candidate will have work experience in a museum (or busy tourism, cultural or commercial environment), a GCSE (or equivalent) qualification in English, and a Recent Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.
You’ll be able to undertake a physically demanding role involving significant amounts of walking and standing up for long periods of time. You should provide a high standard of customer service to visitors asking for information or directions.
Ideally, you will be able to make decisions under pressure as well as having brilliant communication, presentation and punctuality skills. Delivering a fantastic visitor experience at all times is a high priority.
