Retail Assistant – London

The British Museum is on the hunt for a dedicated Retail Assistant to work at selected retail shops at the Museum.

The role

A short summary of your key responsibilities:

• Working in selected retail shops inside the Museum
• Assisting/serving customers inside the shops with their purchases
• General cleaning duties
• Taking cash/card payments on a EPOS till system

You will need to be comfortable following a rota pattern of 4 days on and 2 days off. Weekend availability is required.

How you’ll dazzle us

The ideal candidate has previous retail experience, preferably in a Museum or Gallery environment. You have excellent customer service and communication skills and are keen to meet people face-to-face. You are required to be good with numbers, hard-working and exhibit a positive attitude. If you’re a team player, able to work under pressure and have a passion for heritage, this role is for you.
