Donations Assistant



£11.05 per hour

The team at the British Museum are looking for a friendly, charismatic new Donations Assistant to start work as soon as possible, preferably by the beginning of May.

The role

This is a front-of-house position, and your key responsibility will be to welcome visitors via the south pavilion and encourage them to make optional donations via cash or card. You will provide information regarding the museum and exhibitions, assist with queue management and offer assistance with any queries visitors may have.

Working hours will be between 09.45 – 20.00. There will be 2 shift patterns initially (09.45 – 1700) and (09.45 – 18.00) but may change depending on requirements. The working pattern is 4 days on 2 days off and does include working some weekends.

You will be a customer service superstar who is approachable, cheerful and helpful at all times. You will be highly enthusiastic, hard-working and immaculately well-presented with a positive attitude. You’ll be able to work under pressure, both in a team and as an individual. Previous retail experience is essential, and a passion for culture and heritage would be a huge bonus!
